FTC Releases New Guidelines for Endorsements, Social Media, Contests, etc.
Every day you run into obstacles in your business that you must overcome, laws change, social media is a challenge, new technologies released for you to install – the list never ends!
Recently the Federal Trade Commission has released their Guidelines for product endorsements, social media, contests, etc. After reading through the FTC Guidelines, it could be reduced to a few bullets:
- Ask yourself, is this how I would want to be treated?
- Is this statement, tweet, comment, etc. true?
- Do I have evidence to back up my claims?
- Is my business run ethically, honestly and transparently?
