Veterans Florida is a non-profit created by the Florida Legislature to attract and retain veterans. They have partnered with Florida Gulf Coast University’s Institute for Entrepreneurship and five other institutions of higher education to deliver the Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program. This is a new entrepreneurial training initiative for veterans in the state seeking to start their own businesses.

The program is open to currently serving active duty, reserve, Florida National Guard members or veterans, who have been honorably discharged, reside in Florida and demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial interest. Through the Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program, FGCU’s Institute will be offering workshops on from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 14, and from 9 a.m.-noon on Dec. 2 at the Emergent Technologies Institute off Alico Road.

Space is limited. For more information, contact Amy Ridgway, program coordinator, at (239) 590-7324, or aridgway@fgcu.edu. Veterans can register for workshops or courses on the Veterans Florida website, www.veteransflorida.org.
