A new and exciting networking opportunity is arising in Cape Coral that is sure to have a major impact on the younger generation of business professionals.

The Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral announced its newest networking group, The Exchange, whose first-ever event will be held Tuesday, July 17th at 5:30 pm at Rusty’s Raw Bar and Grill. This group is targeted for the up-and-coming business leaders of Cape Coral – for all professionals 45 and younger or those young at heart.

This first event is free of charge to attendees (subsequent events will have a small entry fee) and the event will include raffle prizes, an opportunity to introduce yourself to the group, and a round of speed networking followed by casual networking. Food and beverages will be provided courtesy of our sponsor, Chapman Insurance Group, your local, independent insurance agency who strives to provide you with the ultimate customer service and competitive insurance plans to fit your individual needs.

Founding members Krystal Bottcher of Chapman Insurance Group, Annette Warren of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, Kevin McNamara of CapeStyle magazine, and Donna S. Germain, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, all took on the task of creating this group. They will host events monthly that are aimed at offering a “mix of educational and historical components while offering its participants opportunities to grow as community stewards,” as well as the opportunity to network with a group of like-minded individuals in a welcoming and casual setting.

We are at a point as a community where the next generation of leaders is starting to emerge,” said Germain. “New business owners are emerging and long-established family businesses are now run by the children and grandchildren of those families. This is the perfect time for our organization to recognize this new generation and offer them a chance to continue their growth as community leaders.”

Bottcher furthered this by stating, “We all saw a great need to create a group that was tailored to the younger professionals. Regardless of that profession, you could be a Realtor, a mechanic, in the service industry, running your own business or working for someone else, we are just aiming it towards those who are growing their roots here in Cape Coral. We wanted to provide them with an outlet to not only gain an education about Cape Coral, but an opportunity for them to create a unique and individual voice that will help shape the future of our community. It’s about growth for them as individuals and professionals and growth for us as a community.”

When asked what Germain hopes this will do for the future of business in Cape Coral, she stated, “Cape Coral has always had a strong business community with solid business leaders that have a deep commitment to this community. My hope for the future is that this mindset will continue into this up and coming generation.”
